Full PC Launch, New Platforms, Expansions & More

March 9, 2017

It’s been almost a year since we revealed The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and in that time we have built the game into a strong, fun experience for Elder Scrolls and strategy card game fans alike. The feedback we’ve received from the player community has been invaluable and we are endlessly grateful. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our amazing fans and we want to thank them for helping us grow during our closed beta.

And where are we today, exactly? We’re officially launching The Elder Scrolls: Legends! We’re pleased to announce that the PC version of Legends is now out of beta. Start the game today, play with friends, grow your collection, and begin your adventures across Tamriel. If you’ve already been playing Legends, nothing changes. As we said previously, you keep all your cards and the rewards you’ve earned.

But that’s just what’s happening on PC. We’ve run surveys throughout the last year and we heard players loud and clear: You want to play on your tablets and phones. With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce The Elder Scrolls: Legends will soon be available on the following platforms:

  • iPad – March 23
  • Android Tablets – April
  • Mac OS – May
  • Mobile Phones – Early Summer

We’re incredibly excited about all these platforms and with the game losing its beta tag on PC, we wanted to let our players known up front what they can expect for the future. If you are currently playing on PC, or plan to check the game out on PC, all of your information and decks will carry over once you take the experience to any of the devices listed above.

We will continue to promote healthy play and also keep the game fresh and exciting.  We want the metagame and the moment-to-moment play to feel fun and fresh, so we’re continually adjusting cards and introducing events like the Chaos Arena to provide a balanced, evolving and dynamic experience for all players.

But these updates and monthly events are just a piece of what gives a game like The Elder Scrolls: Legends a healthy lifespan. In order for an online game to constantly feel new and exciting, you need bigger expansions and gameplay additions. We’re happy to announce our first major story campaign update for Legends coming April 5: “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood” is a brand-new Story that will feature new solo PvE content – more than 20 missions spread across three maps – as well as over 40 new cards. Those who pick up “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood” will also receive the Doom Wolf mount in The Elder Scrolls Online (PC/Mac only) as a bonus. This is just the first step in better integrating Legends and The Elder Scrolls Online going forward.

While this will be an exciting new addition for Elder Scrolls fans and fans of the PvE, we have even bigger things on the horizon. We’re not ready to spoil those plans just yet, but stay tuned during E3 this June for the announce of a big expansion coming early this summer, complete with a huge new set of cards, new mechanics and more.

In May we will be adding a variety of features including a full Spectator mode, Twitch integration, and support for in-game tournaments with our all-new Gauntlet mode. Gauntlets are limited-time, in-game tournaments where you create a deck out of the cards in your collection and compete against other players to reach the top of the Gauntlet leaderboard. The length, conditions and prizes for the Gauntlets will change from month-to-month. We’ll be talking more about all of our May features over the coming months.

We have a whole host of new features and functionality in store for 2017, and we’ll continue with regular releases of new Stories and full card sets every few months throughout this year and beyond. With aggressive updates to the cards and the metagame, new Story campaigns, and upcoming expansions, we want Legends to constantly evolve and grow for new and existing players.

We started this letter off by thanking our fans, and it really is incredibly how far this game has come with their help. Everyone at Dire Wolf Digital and Bethesda love everything that people have done with the game, from community tournaments, fan-made cards, videos and so, so much more. It’s been an incredible first year and with everything we’ve got coming up, the next one is going to be even better as our Legends continue to grow!
